Trek deposit payment
We ask for 20% deposit from you before the trek to give some security to the guide (and porter, if requested). Actually we’ve set it at a round $100 to make the maths simpler for everybody. Note that PayPal will charge between 1 and 5% depending on how you pay and where you are.
We will refund all of this deposit (minus any charges incurred) it if you cancel within four (4) weeks of departure. We ask for this deposit payment via PayPal (which accepts credit cards) so that is can be refunded if necessary.and within 60 days of payment. After 6 weeks, PayPal charges are not refundable so we’ll return your deposit minus the charges. As the Nepali Rupee is a soft currency, refunding from a bank transfer after conversion is impossible.
While you can also pay the balance by bank transfer (10 days before departure please to ensure it arrives in time) cash is simpler and bank-charge-free.
We have to pay the permit fees in a hard currency cash (USD) also, so this makes it easier for us to do that. Actually, when we submit this permit money, it has to be new dollars and we have to write the serial number of every single note down before submitting to the bank. Crazy!
