Astronomers photograph Manaslu Trek and beyond

There are many fabulous pictures, and below are a selection of favourites showing some of the highlights of the Manaslu Trek, including a couple of the astronomers themselves. Thank you Oleg!

I am astronomer from the Moscow University, Russia. I’ve visited Nepal several times before and always wanted to see Manaslu area, since all people said it’s very unique. After Annapurna Circuit,  3 passes in Khumbu (autumn, winter) I decided to visit Manaslu area before climbing Pisang Peak.

Manaslu trek was just excellent ! We (5 Russian astronomers and two Nepali guides) got solid acclimatization and had no problem with high altitude when climbing Pisang Peak. The most interesting places were Manaslu Base Camp and Bhimtang area. We started from Arughat Bazaar and
after 9 days we completed Manaslu trek in Thoche, where we join Annapurna Circuit for Pisang Peak.
