The Manaslu Circuit Trek is the best all round tea-house hike in Nepal on the Great Himalaya Trail; the new Annapurna Circuit. No camping needed.

Insurance for the Manaslu Circuit Trek

Every year thousands trek the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal, but I would like to know which insurance companies are the best and for which companies, and which are best to avoid.

If you have a moment, please add the name of the company you used below and if you would recommend it to others.

It’s not totally clear if your trek is attempting to actually ascend Manaslu itself, or just trekking around it. If you intend to ascent the mountain itself, by all accounts it’s a very difficult climb indeed and probably the only people who will insure it is the British Mountaineering Council, as it involves mountaineering in its most basic form. If it’s trekking around, I took cover out earlier this year with True Traveller Insurance (http://www.adventuretravelinsurance.co.uk) as their insurance covers trekking to unlimited altitudes, and includes helicopter rescue.

    Cheers
